The 20 year old NHL star is thrilled, 'To win both awards is pretty awesome,' he says.
Ryan Ellis has won a series of awards and tournaments during the last four years, and he is said to be the next big NHL star in the making. Last season, he was the first Spitfire defenceman ever to lead the team in scoring. The NHL star scored 24 goals and 101 points in 58 games and was the top scoring easily the top scoring defenceman.
This past season, Ellis became the first defenceman in Spitfires history to lead the team in scoring.
He was also the first OHL defenceman in 17 seasons to break the century mark in points. His 24 goals and 101 points in 58 regular-season games topped all league defencemen in scoring and tied him for fourth overall.
