NHL star Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews is a true leader, All-Star and potential MVP candidate. Toews won the Conn Smythe Trophy last season months after he was named the most valuable player in the Olympics. According to Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville, Toews welcomes big challenges, and he's excited about Game 7 against the Canucks after winning three straight in this series.

Toews believes that the Blackhawks got to Game 7 not only because they've played well. He thinks it's their fate to get this far, after having come back from being down 3-0. He said he's been feeling confident in practice and has high energy and expectations for Game 7. So far, Toews has been scoreless in the Stanley Cup playoff games, but his team has found a way to win regardless. If he is able to get back to his usual form, it's likely the Blackhawks will be able to continue their advance beyond the Quarterfinals.

Former NHL star and his wife Allana Henderson have filed assault charges against each other. Ms. Henderson has pleaded not guilty to a charge of assaulting her husband with a weapon, and also entered a not-guilty plea to a charge of theft involving a briefcase that belonged to Damphousse.

Both charges stem from incidents that took place on March 29. Damphousse, a former Montreal Canadiens captain, was also charged with six accounts of simple assault against Henderson. He has also pleaded not guilty, and his lawyer claims the the charges are linked to divorce proceedings. Both parties have refused to comment on the charges. Damphousse played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Edmonton Oilers, the Montreal Canadiens and the San Jose sharks in his 18 year NHL career, retiring after the 2003-3004 season.

NHL star Ryan Ellis, Windsor Spitfire Captain, is going to get two awards any of his teammates or opponents would die for: the NHL star will be named CGM defenseman of the year, and also be the first Spitfire named CCM player of the year. The 20 year old NHL star is thrilled, 'To win both awards is pretty awesome,' he says.
Ryan Ellis has won a series of awards and tournaments during the last four years, and he is said to be the next big NHL star in the making. Last season, he was the first Spitfire defenceman ever to lead the team in scoring. The NHL star scored 24 goals and 101 points in 58 games and was the top scoring easily the top scoring defenceman.
This past season, Ellis became the first defenceman in Spitfires history to lead the team in scoring.
He was also the first OHL defenceman in 17 seasons to break the century mark in points. His 24 goals and 101 points in 58 regular-season games topped all league defencemen in scoring and tied him for fourth overall.
